Fees and Expenses
The Institute is a not-for-profit organization and provides subsidized education. The Semester Fee (Tuition fee and accommodation Charges), non-refundable, except in case an applicant is rendered ineligible upon declaration of results where refund is made, is as under for the 4 years for residents and wards of expatriate Pakistanis.

The annual tuition fee for foreign students is US$ 7,500/-
5% of the semester fee will be collected as administrative charges against each semester. No administrative charges if a student pays the entire fee for two semesters in a lump sum. The semester fee cannot be paid in installments. The semester fee is payable before the commencement of the semester. A non-refundable admission fee of Rs. 63,000/- for Pakistani applicants or US $ 680/- for foreign applicants is also required to be deposited at the time of admission. Rs. 30,000 will be charged as security, refundable at the time of leaving the Institute subject to clearance from relevant departments. The final-year students are charged the convocation fee of Rs. 17,000. An advance of Rs. 8,000 is to be deposited by each student as mess security.
Online Payment Channel for Semester / Annual Fee
The students of GIK Institute can pay their semester / Annual Fees through the following payment channels.
1. Over the counter in any branch of HBL.
2. HBL Internet Banking / Mobile App (HBL Network only)
3. 1-Bill Top-up for all banks
1-Bill Top-up Procedure.
There is now a practical option for the GIKI institute to pay tuition. This would be an addition to the standard fee payment method, which is “Over the Counter” through HBL branches.
Please take note of the information below:
Prefix: For your transaction, use the following prefix: Add your student registration number to 1001151040 +. This will function as a distinctive bill/consumer number, challan, invoice, etc.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to make your fee payment:
- · Visit your bank’s online internet banking portal / mobile application, and All ATMs across the country.
- · Select the “1 Bill Top-Up” option.
- · Use the provided prefix (1001151040 + Your Student Registration Number) as your unique bill/invoice/challan/consumer number.
- · Enter the amount of the semester / annual fee (as per the Fee Voucher of the GIK Institute).
- · Verify the payment details and confirm the transaction.
Please ensure that the details are entered accurately to prevent any complications in the fee payment process.
Note: Payment Due Date = As mentioned on the fee voucher, with conditions specified there on.
Refund Policy:
A newly enrolled student is required to notify GIKI Institute in writing if they decide to withdraw from the program. For the semester fee, the following refund guidelines will be in effect:

Note: In case an applicant is rendered ineligible upon declaration of results, 100% tuition fee refunded if applied within 10 days of declaration of result along with proof of ineligibility.

Free Electricity Units:
The Institute shall provide free electricity to each student in the hostels as under:

In addition to the above, Free units allowed for common areas per hostel will be as under:
Summer 3943 units per month
Winter 534 units per month
Any excess consumption of electricity in the hostels will be charged to the students.
Academic Calendar
An academic year comprises two regular semesters of sixteen weeks each and an eight-week summer school. The timings of two semesters and summer school are as follows:
Fall: August to December
Spring: January to May
Summer: June to July
The last week of a semester is allocated to the final examinations. There is normally a mid-semester break in a semester.
Duration of Bachelor Studies
Students have to complete their entire degree requirements within the following time limits:
Normal Duration: 4 years
Maximum Duration: 6 years
Academic Advisors
All Students are assigned to academic advisors. The advisors develop plans of study for them, monitor their records, and guide them on all academic matters.
