Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has announced a new policy in which Medical and Dental Admission Test will carry 200 marks instead of 1100.

The Entry Test will have the following pattern:

Total Number of MCQs – 200

Biology – 80

Chemistry – 60

Physics – 40

English – 20

Each MCQ carries 1 marks and students need to get more than 120 marks to make their way to the final merit list.

Students need to give preferences of 3 medical colleges from their own province and 2 colleges from other provinces which they want to get admission in. The order of preferences once given by the candidate in application shall be final and cannot be changed afterwards. Moreover, in case of occurrence of vacant seat, the candidate may be upgraded in the successive lists to an institution listed higher in the provided order of preference.

The admission to MBBS and BDS course in a medical and dental institution shall be made on the basis of merit. Any admission made violating merit or on the basis of donations or unofficial and illegal payments in any form shall be considered serious violation of the rules.

After successful admission in Medical Colleges, they need to maintain their passing marks. Previously students had 4 chances in first two years and unlimited chances in the next three years but from now on, after failing twice in final exams in any year, they will be kicked out of the medical college permanently.
